Product Description
This is one of the most rugged design we have developed, seen or even used. It has a Black Rubberized Dimple coating for extra durability. One major difference is this laser is made with a Japanese lens which is superior over the Chinese lenses found in the $36.95 models. The 30mw has a range of up to 8 miles!! This is a real dream for the green laser users. It is certainly a next generation of green laser designs and performance. This green laser pointer is the only choice for presentations, science courses, research labs, military, bird watching, tree experts, law enforcement plus so much more.

The product performs as advertised. I have a 50 mW from the same vendor and this (30 mW) one was a gift.
While the 30 mW is not as bright as the 50 mW that is to be expected. Both are significantly brighter than my 5 mW version.
They both experience the idosyncratic tendency to require being warmed in the hand or pocket briefly at temperatures below 50 degrees F, as they will not output at full power at low temperatures. Once they have been warmed, they both perform well.
As with the 50 mW version, be very careful where you point the 30 mW. They are both VERY bright and can do harm if shined into someones eyes.
Overall, the vendor delivered ahead of the promise date and the product is as advertised. Will definitely buy from them again.
I would recommend that these be used outdoors, exclusively, as the beams/dots are extremely (that is - too bright) intense and not really suitable for indoor use, such as for presentations (unless used from far away from the screen. The 30 mW is better for indoor use than the 50 mW, if you insist on using one indoors).
DO NOT use them to play with your pets...You could easily blind them with just the reflection!!!
BE CAREFUL with any and all laser pointers, especially these power levels.
(Note: as these are presumed (unverified) to be made in China, the quality may vary. I also presume that the vendor will replace any that do not perform to the advertised specs.)

I am really surprised at how good this laser was. Although I was pondering whether to buy this laser after reading some of the reviews, I am pleased with HDE for providing me with such an excellent product. Firstly, I received my laser 2 weeks before the expected date!!! I was so pleased and surprised. It also came with the microfiber cloth and LED key chain flashlight. I can also see that the quality of the product was there as it came with a nice black box. The laser pointer was also very stylish. The batteries worked with the laser pointer perfectly to create a bright green beam. I did not notice any of the brightness dimming after using it for 20 seconds. I must say I am impressed. What a good deal, for just $16.95 (including shipping)

My "seller" was Plexsupply from Kentucky. It shipped pretty quickly. I was a little doubtful about this pointer because of the price tag but this product is very bright. Some of these reviews say it needs warm up time. I don't see that at all. The minute I light it up I can see the beam all the way down my backyard to the woods line (Appx 250 ft) and the dot is extremely bright. It does not seem to get any brighter to me as it "Warms Up." This is at night of course. Don't think I'll tease my cat with this as I am worried it may affect his eyes although he was after it the first minute I turned it on. Pointing out stars/constellations will be easy with this toy. I Really didn't expect it to be so bright!! Also it says 30mw on the product.

Overall, I am impressed. I used to have the 5MW version, so I knew that this product would perform superb. It was only 20 bucks, and for that price, its really a steal. Beam is visible in a dark room, and somewhat visible during the day. At night, It works wonders...it seems like the beam goes on forever. I used my own set of AAA batteries. The supplied batteries get the job done, but I use Lithium AAA. It allows the laser to achieve its peak output and high power in no time. Would highly recommend this laser to anyone else.
