The product performs as advertised. I have a 50 mW from the same vendor and this (30 mW) one was a gift.
While the 30 mW is not as bright as the 50 mW that is to be expected. Both are significantly brighter than my 5 mW version.
They both experience the idosyncratic tendency to require being warmed in the hand or pocket briefly at temperatures below 50 degrees F, as they will not output at full power at low temperatures. Once they have been warmed, they both perform well.
As with the 50 mW version, be very careful where you point the 30 mW. They are both VERY bright and can do harm if shined into someones eyes.
Overall, the vendor delivered ahead of the promise date and the product is as advertised. Will definitely buy from them again.
I would recommend that these be used outdoors, exclusively, as the beams/dots are extremely (that is - too bright) intense and not really suitable for indoor use, such as for presentations (unless used from far away from the screen. The 30 mW is better for indoor use than the 50 mW, if you insist on using one indoors).
DO NOT use them to play with your pets...You could easily blind them with just the reflection!!!
BE CAREFUL with any and all laser pointers, especially these power levels.
(Note: as these are presumed (unverified) to be made in China, the quality may vary. I also presume that the vendor will replace any that do not perform to the advertised specs.)

My "seller" was Plexsupply from Kentucky. It shipped pretty quickly. I was a little doubtful about this pointer because of the price tag but this product is very bright. Some of these reviews say it needs warm up time. I don't see that at all. The minute I light it up I can see the beam all the way down my backyard to the woods line (Appx 250 ft) and the dot is extremely bright. It does not seem to get any brighter to me as it "Warms Up." This is at night of course. Don't think I'll tease my cat with this as I am worried it may affect his eyes although he was after it the first minute I turned it on. Pointing out stars/constellations will be easy with this toy. I Really didn't expect it to be so bright!! Also it says 30mw on the product.

I didn't notice any warm-up effect mentioned by previous reviewers - beam is strong immediately and doesn't appear to change in strength over 10 seconds. Don't have any way of measuring beam power, but the spot is very visible at 150 feet (the farthest I tried) in full sunlight. I first put the batteries in backwards (read the instructions - negative goes towards the front, beam end), and it obviously has polarity protection since it works fine after putting them in correctly. The instructions also warn against exposure to moisture; I plan to put it in a baggie and use it on a sailboat at night to point out navigation marks. At just $13 who cares if it dies.

Talk about a bright laser pointer! WOW! This thing will light up a room! Literally! Only drawback is short battery life. This thing really draws the juice! Guess thats expected with the output this thing has! Happy with this purchase!

I was recently in sunriver oregon at an observatory watching astronomers pointing out planets and stars with a fancy green laser pen. I wanted one.. I got one... :) This pen is amazing for the price, and slightly brighter then 5mw (I think). I got 4 pens, one for me and three of my friends. There all very bright and can definitely see the laser beam in the dark. Its so bright that you can see the laser dot on the object your pointing at in the day time!
Not only am I extremely satisfied, my friends are as well! Not to mention the shipping and tracking was great, I got them 3 days prior to when they had posted for me to receive them.
